I was born in a small town in Darbhanga, where access to opportunity was limited, but intent was not. For years, I walked nearly 10 kilometers each day to attend college. I was always drawn to art—spending hours creating, long before I understood where it would take me. Even as I did well in studies, I knew early on that I wanted to build something through creativity. Alongside my education, I pursued art more seriously—participating in exhibitions and eventually earning recognition at a national level. That’s when I realised that my strength was not just in academics, but in creating.

Without any formal coaching, I prepared for the NIFT entrance exam—and cleared it in my first attempt. I went on to graduate from NIFT Kolkata in 2001. It was a defining moment—one that changed everything.

My journey then took me into the world of fashion—starting with Gini & Jony in Mumbai, followed by Reliance Trends, where I was part of the early team building their apparel business. Over the years, I worked with brands like Walmart India and later moved to Dubai to lead design for Iconic (luxury label) under Landmark Group. Traveling across Milan, London, and Florence, I experienced a very different approach to children’s wear—one that was thoughtful, elevated, and effortlessly refined. That perspective stayed with me.

When I returned to India in 2018, I stepped into a leadership role with an established brand. But somewhere, I sensed a gap. There was space for a more refined, effortless approach to children’s wear—one that didn’t ask for a compromise between comfort and aesthetics. I could see that there were parents who valued this sensibility, yet often had to look beyond or settle.

Then came a pause—unexpected, but defining. It gave me the space to step back, reflect, and finally consider building something of my own. In Dubai, I explored a collaboration and launched a trading label based there. But despite our efforts, the venture did not take shape as intended. And in that stillness, one thing became clear—BYB Premium had always been within me. Not just as an idea, but as a direction I was meant to take.

In January 2021, I gave that vision a form. BYB Premium was built on everything I had experienced—from global exposure to personal resilience—with one clear belief: That children’s clothing can be beautiful, comfortable, and timeless—without compromise.
